MISSION. The mission isto race amongst each other ina triangle pattern with a pit stop (to replace the next batch team members) and paddle back to the starting grid. Uponcompletion of the race, the team will carry the raft to the dismantling area and dismantle the raft and hand it over to the Facilitator/ Trainer by mean of Housekeeping order. Teams are to place all the PVC one side, life jackets together, tire tube stack together, paddle together and rope on one side. Once done, the Facilitator/ trainer will blow the whistle and check the time taken. The team that present the above in order and the shortest time shall be declared the winner. The team that knock down/ collide with the marker flag will be DISQUALIFIED (DQ).
OBJECTIVE. The activity is relatively good for team work, co –operation, leadership quality, planning, strategy, man management, command and control and communications skill for it to be able to complete the exercise.
METHOD.Team members shall be taught how to build a raft with PVC pole and tire tube and be able to sail in the pond. The smaller raft can take up to maximum 6 persons and the bigger raft up to maximum12 persons. For safety reason, there will not be any competition during the raft building session. ONLY the raft that is tested sea worthy by our Trainer will be allowed to sail/ enter the pond. Our S&R Facilitator/ Trainer will brief on the rules and regulations prior to the start of the exercise.Each team member will be provided with a paddle and also life jacket each.
*The ideal size shall be between 12 – 24 persons per team. PS. Please take note! We are only capable to launch 8 Rafts (for 6 men raft) at a time. Our capacity for 12 men raft is also limited to 4 Raft due to the size of the pond.
